Journaling has always been a challenge for me. I kept one as a child but have since lost it over the years. In my early twenties I had always wanted to keep a journal perhaps to tell my children how I met their father and they came to be. Unfortunately my former husband decided it was his business to read it. So I quit writing in it. I have since not been able to trust that I could keep a journal. I tried one of those software journal programs for computers and it worked quite well until my computer crashed and it was lost.
So I am back to square one and working on keeping a journal by handwriting it. My current husband is very trust worthy so I have no fears there. I mostly write about issues with work to help me sort it out, what I am working on as far as my writing goes, my children and their adventures in life thus far like my son going into the USMC.
I truly would love to get the details out of my head about the issues I continually have with my mother. Love my mother but she frustrates me beyond all words. I live in the same town as my mother but I do not see her nor talk to her that much due to my frustrations with her. I suppose that here somewhere is a start to that journal, huh?
I know that journaling will also help with my writing. I so want to be one of those writers who can stay home and write and get published. I only have one book under my wing and I published it my self. That is not an easy task or easy to market.
So I guess I am making a start journaling and it also helps with Mari’s eBooks I have been able to purchase that give me the ideas and strength to do so. And my daughter journals without actually me telling her what a difference it will make in her well being as a young woman.
I am not sure if this is the type of “personal journal story” you were interested in or looking for but this is what I have. I took the 27 day journal challenge and even passed it along to friends. I know two of my friends did it and I believe it sort of helped them at taking a look at their marriage.
There are so many aspects of journaling that can help in very different areas of people’s lives. Marriage, personal, work, writing, feelings, family. I just touched on a few here because they are the ones I am working on. I write on each of these in different journals so as to keep my brain focused on what’s important with each one. What I may need to work on and what I need to expand on in life.
I thank you Mari for all you have provided on your website for those of us who need the help and didn’t know where to find it.
My pleasure, Sue.
