Journaling can lead you through sickness into better health. Once you determine what is ailing you, you can think of new ideas to help heal yourself. (Note: Journaling does not necessarily replace medical care; for serious health concerns, consult your doctor and bring your journaling notes.)
Listen To Your Body
1. Have a daily conversation with your body through the pages of your journal. Ask it questions and carefully write down your responses.
How are you feeling overall? Are you battling any kind of illness? What is your energylevel? Are you feeling tired or sluggish?
Starting with your head and going down to your toes, check in with individual parts of your body. Do you have any pain or tension? Identify any discomfort as specifically as possible.
Is there anything that is bothering you emotionally at the moment?
What improvement would you like to see in your body’s health today? If you could sum up what your body is trying to tell you today in one sentence, what would it be?
2. Continue this conversation with your body every day for a week, then go back and read your responses. On a fresh page in your journal, answer the following questions:
Are there any physical patterns you notice in your conversations? Are you consistently hearing the same message from your body?
Are there any emotional patterns you notice in your conversations?
What improvement would you like to see in your body’s health in the upcoming week?
If you could sum up what your body is trying to tell you in the last week in one sentence, what would it be?
3. Continue this practice of regular writing, reading and reflection each week and make note of patterns, changes and progress. Keep Journaling for the Health of itTM !
Have you ever used your journal as a cure for physical troubles? What has helped you?
