Every family has its own set of stories, traditions and values that make it unique. Your family shapes the way you view the world and the way you see yourself.
Examining your family history and culture more closely gives you greater insight into where you come from and where you’re going. Incorporate this exploration into your journal writing, and push yourself to go past just the facts and dig deeper into your feelings and impressions.
Start by reflecting on these questions:
- What makes your family different than others?
- What do you love about your family? What makes you proud?
- What do you dislike about your family? What causes you pain?
- Which people in your family are the keepers of stories and traditions?
- How would you describe your family in three words?
